Fight Against the odds
I still remember the day, 21 months ago, when the surgeon told us my wife has got breast cancer. It was such a shock, for days I felt like a "sleep walker". I had the feeling it is happening to someone else and I am just watching a movie, and it will end soon.
We had only days to prepare for the operation and learn everything there is about cancer. It was an information overload. I had to keep a cool head and absorb all the relevant articles, suggestions, different therapies, pamphlets, advises, phone calls, internet researches… We had been told by our oncologist what the odds were for survival:
- Operation 55%
- Chemotherapy: 10%
- Radiotherapy: 9%
- Hormontherapy: 5%
The total number was 79%.
This was unacceptable for me.
I realized this was the time I had to take over control of the most precious commodity, my wife's life and do everything possible to fight this terrible disease I had to find a way to increase our chances. I have been told of many different alternatives, complementary products and healing procedures. I have carefully studied all of them, but I wasn't convinced.
My relatives from Hungary informed me about a new complementary therapy made of wheat germ, called Avemar. I immediately started a wide scale research on the Internet. There were plenty of it all around, clinical studies, publishing's from peer-reviewed medical journals and different studies. I have read a report from the Bureau of Statistics in Hungary that the first time ever in their medical history the death rate from cancer dropped in the year 2000 the first year of the product Avemar was available on the market.
We have decided to ask our relatives to send Avemar to us. My wife started to take it 5 days after the operation.
We did this consulting our oncologist to whom I had to translate all the ingredients of Avemar. He said there is nothing in it that would interfere with the conventional treatment.
The chemotherapy we have chosen was the short 3-month intensive strong one.
We wanted to be over and done with as soon as possible.
I was sitting by her side at every session. I had the opportunity to observe the other approximately dozen of patients. It seemed to me that compare to them we had a relatively easy ride. My wife was a lot stronger than the others and she did not experience any harsh side effects from the "poison" therapy and even her blood count was back to normal a lot sooner than it was expected. It was followed by the " burn" therapy and the hormone therapy with Tamoxifen ever since. We have received confirmation from the scientists of Avemar that they have very good results with women taking Tamoxifen together with Avemar. Our experience is the same as she is free of any side effects.
My wife is still on Avemar , she has just started the 21st monthly supply and she wants to take it for the rest of her life as. The reason is that at the time of operation they took out 7 lymphnodes and unfortunately 3 of them was already effected by the cancerous cells, Avemar has got a proven antimetastatic effect. It means that it doesn't allow the primary tumor to spread around her body.
We had the first yearly check up for secondaries in august 2003. She has received the "all clear".
I cannot describe the happiness I have felt at that moment.
Avemar, the name is short for Ave Maria the old Christian prayer, has definitely helped us along with thousands from Hungary and across Europe.
